The WAR ROOM And Its Effects

Suzie and I watched a movie at our last EFV called “War Room.” If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. It could change your life forever.

After the EFV I came back to my cell and converted it to my own little War Room, a place where I combat sin with the Word of God and through prayer. I now have notes, scriptures, and written themes posted everywhere I look. My favorite place to stick a note is on the bottom of the top bunk, BAM, right in my face. I’m on the bottom bunk.

I’ll share a few with you:

* Obey all of Gods commands.

* Love and respect Suzie unconditionally.

* Love everyone.

* Find ways to serve others.

* Commit acts of kindness.

* Do not commit these 5 destructive sins: Idolatry, Lust, Fornication, Tempting Christ, Murmuring. (Read: 2 Peter 1:12-13)

My prayers are highly focused on all of the above. Everyday I find fault either in my actions, or my thoughts, that causes me to commit one or more of the above sins.

The effectiveness of my War Room enables me to immediately recognize and confess those sins as I ask for forgiveness on the spot. My goal is to go one day sin free. Then two. Then three. Until one day these sins are completely washed out of me and I can easily live without committing them.

As I pray and ask for the wisdom to not ”Tempt Christ”, I immediately ask for the strength to ”obey all of Gods commands.” Those two things go hand in hand.

Deep in my heart, I know where I’m being disobedient. My War Room takes me to a deeper level of consciousness.

I recognize there are things that need to be addressed. Because on one hand I’m praying for maximum prosperity and unlimited blessings, and on the other hand I’m deliberately disobeying Gods commands.

That’s called, ”Tempting Christ”, when you pray for something but you’re not living in accordance with that prayer request. It’s a highly destructive sin that keeps people from their Canaan Land.

For weeks I asked God to give me the strength to clean up EVERY area that needs it. And just yesterday that happened. I went through my entire cell, every box, every folder, every envelope, and every shelf. I got rid of everything that violated the rules, or that was ungodly. (Read: Psalm119:133)

It was hard to do. I found myself throwing out poems and short stories that I had written over 20 years ago. I found some girly pics I didn’t even know I had. Those are a major infraction these days due to recent policy changes. I ripped them up and flushed them. I got rid of extra towels, an extra belt, a extra pair of shoes, a extra pair of sweat pants, extra tweezers, toenail clippers, fingernail clippers, laundry bag, and a old paint brush someone gave me years ago.

I had this super nice binder with over 50 plastic sleeves where I kept all my Doggy Certificates, Doggy pics, and Doggy articles. It was my Doggy portfolio. I keep it on my coffee table (aka: the top of the doggy crate) right next to my Encyclopedia of Dogs. It’s out in the open for everyone to see. It survives every cell search, as does everything else I’ve mentioned. But the bottom line is I acquired it illegally. It’s not on my property matrix and it’s not authorized.Therefore, I’m in violation. Period.

So I pulled all my stuff out of it and gave the thing back. All my doggy stuff now sits in a folder and is tucked away with several other folders.

These things are small, not a big deal. I could’ve gone the rest of my incarceration with these things. But it was a big deal! Those small violations meant I wasn’t fully obeying all of Gods commands. Therefore, those small things were preventing me from receiving all of Gods promises. 1 Peter 2:13 says, ”Submit yourself for the Lord’s sake to every authority instituted among men…” That means following rules.

I can no longer pick and choose which rules I want to follow. Because thats the same thing as picking and choosing which of Gods commands I want to follow. Deuteronomy 28:1-2 says, ”If you fully obey God and carefully obey all His commands, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God.”

In order to receive all of Gods blessings, I must ”exchange” disobedience for obedience. I must exchange these petty items for the unlimited power found in Christ. I must carefully obey all His commands. (Read: EPHESIANS 3:16-19)

I’ve lived long enough to witness first hand all the truth contained in scripture. I was the fool who came to ruins due to my disobedience and ignorance. All my hardships, curses, problems, and troubles are perfectly laid out and diagnosed in the scriptures.

Do you know what’s also laid out in scripture? The pathway to peace, love, harmony, salvation, and maximum prosperity. It’s now time to rise up and be the man God is calling me to be. I have complete faith in Gods word. (Read: EPHESIANS 2:1-5)

I can honestly say I am enjoying a freedom, a liberty, a new dimention of manhood in which I never knew existed. All I have to do is submit to God and carefully obey all of His commands, and only then will the rest of the universe and all ITS power, open up to me.

I’m super excited for the future, knowing that God is on my side, supplying me with unlimited power to achieve anything I set my mind to. I’m thankful for the ultimate role model in Jesus Christ who shows us the way.

God is not an outside force who looks down from an empty sky. God is a way of life created from within. Heaven and Hell are a state of mind.

If you don’t believe in God, then at least believe in the scriptures and the practicle teachings of Jesus. Embrace biblical philosophy and implement it into your life. Obey all His commands as if he is real. If you do that, your life will change for the better in EVERY area. And you will know, GOD IS REAL.
