COURAGE lesson 3 and 4
BEWARE OF THE ”CHURCH-WISE”
Church-wise people go to church regularly, they know the Bible very well,
and they are master manipulators. They are also very easy to spot.
Prison is full of them.
In my week 9 post, I spoke of one. He is self-righteous, self-justified,
and decievd in his ways. He actually uses scripture to justify
his misconduct. Another term for these type of people is ”con artist.”
Do you know anyone like this?
1 Corinthians 15:33 says,
”Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character.”
Life is composed of your actions and choices, which speak
so much louder and clearer than your words.
People tend to judge others based on what they do,
yet they judge themselves based on their intentions.
In light of the above, I’m compelled to examine my
life and acknowledge the areas that need fixing. Such as:
In what ways might I be ”church-wise” or double minded?
The first thing that comes to mind is Gambling, which I’ve vowed
not to do. The real test will come when the football season starts…
specifically, fantasy football.
The second thing is ”obedience.”
Simply put, I need to fully obey all of Gods commands.
I can’t cherry pick which ones I think are important
and which ones don’t matter. I must obey them all.
My challenge is to completely control my mind.
To not be so judgemental and to view others
with love, compassion, and understanding.
THAT is so hard in here. That is my intention.
But intention isn’t good enough. I must do it, and demonstrate
it through action.
I do see progress being made. I’m thankful for
Real Man Ministries and the positive impact it’s
having in my life.
