Real Man Ministry (week 8)

MAXIMIZED MANHOOD : Final essay

The title of my essay is ”How To Maximize Your Manhood.”
It is essentially an outline for a Bible study designed to provoke
dialogue as you translate the word of God according to your modern
day living.

I pray that you gain the understanding that the only way to live life to the fullest is to obey Gods commands, which in return will bestow endless blessings upon you.

I encourage you to meditate on these principles, that are backed by scripture, and find ways to apply them to your modern day life. Marinate in them. Let them soak in. Pray for understanding. And let biblical philosophy transform your life for the better.

[my personal testimony and interpretation of these principles are within these brackets]

HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR MANHOOD

If you fully obey God and carefully follow all his commands, he will set you high above all the nations on earth. Many blessings will come upon you if you obey the Lord your God. (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)

[The key words here are ”fully obey” and ”all.” Who can do that…follow ”all” his commands? I fall short when I gamble, judge others, murmur, lust, etc…That’s why I still occasionally find myself in undesired situations. Because I don’t FULLY obey ALL his commands. When I disobey, there is a price to be paid. I’m working hard on controlling my mind to where I no longer judge others, murmur, or lust. As for gambling, I no longer do it in the dayroom at the card table. I’m 8 months clean in that regard. My biggest challenge is fantasy football and betting on sports. I’m now realizing that Gods blessings are a million times more rewarding than any prize won at gambling. If I truly desire Gods full spectrum of blessings, and to eliminate the redundant curses that plague me, then I MUST carefully obey ”all” his commands. If I do, I’ll rise to the top, high above a life of disobedience, just like the scripture implies.]

The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath,
if you keep his commands and walk in all his ways. (Deuteronomy 28:9)

[When I’m faced with a decision to either lash out in a negative manner,
or humble myself and respond with love, I almost always choose to respond with love. This action is consistent with keeping his commands and walking in his ways. As a result, I inherit many blessing, just as he promised. I’m in the dog program. I have a beautiful wife who loves me. I get EFV’s with her.
I have many people who love me and support me. My blessings are endless as they continue to grow in accordance with my obedience to Gods commands. And just like the scripture says, I have been established as one of his holy people.]

The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity.
(Deuteronomy 28:11)

[ This is a work still in progress. As of now, I am undeserving of abundant
prosperity. To inherent this blessing I must be much more obedient to Gods commands. The level of my obedience will determine the magnitude of my
prosperity. I desire maximum prosperity, and the only way to achieve that is to fully obey God and carefully follow all his commands. I must stop betting on sports. That means no more fantasy football.]

The Lord will make you the head, not the tail.
If you pay attention to the commands of God and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never the bottom. (Deuteronomy 28:13)

[I have faith this is true. Only good things can come from obeying Gods commands. And only bad things come from disobedience.]

However, if you don’t obey God and don’t follow all his commands,
many curses will come upon you and overtake you. (Deuteronomy 28:15)

[My curses came in the form of a long prison term. Then continued with constant fighting. Losing good time. Going to the hole. Discipline write ups and sanctions such as cell confinement and extra duty. Nothing good comes from disobeying Gods commands.]

You will be afflicted with madness, blindness, and confusion of mind.
You will be unsuccessful in everything you do. Day after day you will be oppressed and robbed, with no one to rescue you. (Deuteronomy 28:28-29)

[This is so true! I was constantly mad. Blind to the truths of life and the idea of a better way. I bought in to all the prison politics and had a distorted view of what was good and what was bad. Nothing I did lead to success. Day after day I was oppressed and robbed of peace, love, and happiness. No one came to rescue me. I had to rescue myself by implementing biblical principles into
my life as a moral compass, and learning about the Universal Laws that simply can not error, such as the Law of Attraction and Cause and Effect.]

The sights you see will drive you mad. (Deuteronomy 28:34)

[The smallest things made me mad…peoples mannerisms, the way they talked, the way they sat on a stool, the way they held their spork, the way they brushed their teeth. There was no method to my madness, everything
made me mad. For more on my early years of incarceration, read my eBook
titled: Stone City: Life In The Penitentiary. It’s full of pics that were taken with illegal cellphones, raw and uncensored, straight from the depths of prison society.]

The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath,
if you keep his commands and walk in all his ways. (Deuteronomy 28:9)

Carefully follow the terms of this covenant, so that you may prosper in everything you do. ( Deuteronomy 29:9)

[My life is my testimony. I will do my best to obey. The best is yet to come.
I see how far I’ve come, yet I see how much farther I can and will go. And that excites me because I know I’ll prosper in everything I do.]

I am making this covenant, with its oath, not only with you who are standing
here with us today in the presence of the Lord, but also with those who are not here today. ( Deuteronomy 29:14-15)

[My kids are yet to be born, yet this covenant applies to them too. These scriptures are truth. And TRUTH can withstand the test of time.]

What I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. ( Deuteronomy 30:11)

[I have the ability to comply and be obedient. The question is, do I want to?
The answer is ”yes.” Because the things I must sacrifice pale in comparison
to the unlimited blessings that obedience to God will bestow upon me.
I’ve already seen the tangible results of obeying biblical scripture. I want more of that, therefore I must give more of myself.]

The Word of God is very near you, it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.
For you are commanded today to love the Lord your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments, decrees and laws then you will love and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you no matter where you are.
( Deuteronomy 30:14-16)

[Life and prosperity, death and destruction, it’s all there for the taking.
We have the power to choose. It doesn’t matter if you’re in prison or in the free world, the powerful teachings of Jesus can bring you life and prosperity no matter where you are.]

This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you. I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land of peace and prosperity, full of rich blessings, if you carefully obey his commands. ( Deuteronomy 30:19-20)

[You don’t even have to believe in God to embrace this concept. Just understand biblical commands and obey them. From there the Universe
will reap upon you what you sow. Call it God, call it karma, call it what you want. The facts remain the same, if you obey the word of God, you will be blessed!]

~~~~~~~~~~~~~Here are some of his commands~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do not judge, or you to will be judged. (Matthew 7:1)
Rid yourself of all malice, deciet, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.
Crave pur spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,
now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. (1Pete 2:1-3)
[Even if you don’t believe in God, how can you argue with these practicle
instructions? Pretend there is a God and obey these scriptures. Now pretend
that all your new found blessing came from God. Call it whatever you want,
if you do theses things, your life will dramatically change for the better. And it’s not God doing it…it’s YOU doing it. But you must obey God 100%.]
Submit yourself for the Lord’s sake to every authority instituted
among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, or to governors,
who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. (1Pete 2:13-14)
Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers.
(1Peter 2:17)
[This is hard for me to do because in here the brotherhood of believers are predominantly sex offenders. However, if I am to achieve maximum prosperity I must treat them with love and respect. Hate and resentment will only set me back and prevent me from fully obeying Gods every command.]
Live in harmony with one another. Be sympathetic. Love as brothers.
Be compassion and humble. Do not repay evil with evil, or insult with insult.
Instead be a blessing, as God calls you to be, so that you may inherit a blessing. (1Peter 3:8-9)
[Now that’s what I’m talking about! And that’s what I’m doing. Thank you Jesus for your sound guidance.]
Above all, love each other deeply. Love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Use your gifts to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. (1Peter 4:8)
[My gift is writing. My various form is blogging. And I love you in Christ very deeply.]
Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
(John 13:17)
[My life is my testimony. I’m just getting started. The proof is in the pudding.
