I AM A BRAIN WARRIOR! And I have been for two months now.
I was flipping through the channels when I came across a paid advertisement on PBS. It was Daniel Amen and his wife, Tana Amen. They woke me up to a war I knew nothing about. Then they gave me a powerful arsenal to win that war. It’s called: The Brain Warrior’s Way!

IT’S TIME TO ARM YOURSELF AND HEAD INTO BATTLE!!!
I weighed 165 lbs. when I committed to being a Brain Warrior two months ago. Today I weigh 151 lbs. I didn’t set out to lose weight, it was a natural by-product of eating healthy foods.
Prior to becoming a Brain Warrior, I thought I was eating healthy. I had no idea just how bad it was! Along with fruits, veggies, fish and nuts, my diet also consisted of: cereal, peanut butter, brown rice, angel hair pasta, pickles soaked in chemicals, sugary trail mix/granola, and milk.
I’ve cut all of the above out of my diet. These days my diet consist of:
30 % protein
70 % veggies
less than 50 g. of carbs
no sugar, no unhealthy foods
It’s a simple formula that has tremendous benefits.
How do I get the foods I eat? I make it my business to get them. It’s a top priority in my life, along with exercising. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. I trade all the junk (cookies, cakes, pizza, burgers, processed meats, dairy products, etc…) for extra veggies and other healthy foods.
Here are a few things I’m doing as a BRAIN WARRIOR:
- I eat healthy (colorful veggies, 1-2 pieces of fruit per day, fish, nuts, seeds, garlic, turmeric, ginger, black pepper, basil, cayenne, chili powder, curry, organic green tea, multi vitamins)
- I sleep 9 hours per 24 hrs.
- I get a few hours of fresh air daily.
- I exercise and stretch daily.
- I drink lots of distilled water.
- My wife & I fast together once a month for 72 hours.
- Floss daily.
- No shampoo.
- No deodorant.
- Lots of reading, meditating, and prayer.
- Constantly living in the Spirit of Love!
I also went to medical to have all my important health numbers assessed. Here is a list of important HEALTH NUMBERS that you should know:
- BODY MASS INDEX (BMI) 18.5 – 25 is optimal
- WAIST TO HEIGHT RATIO (WHtR) divide waist size by height in inches.
- BLOOD PRESSURE
- COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT (CBC)
- GENERAL METABOLIC PANEL with FASTING BLOOD SUGAR and LIPID PANEL
- HEMOGLOBIN A 1c (HbA1c)
- VITAMIN D
- THYROID PANEL
- C-REACTIVE PROTEIN (CRP)
- FREE and TOTAL SERUM TESTOSTERONE
- ESTROGEN and PROGESTERONE for WOMEN
Knowing and optimizing these numbers are critical to building a strong, healthy, powerful brain that functions at a high level. I’m currently waiting for the results. If ANYTHING is out-of-whack, I’ll most certainly deal with it accordingly.
