A Weekend With My Husband

I Love You

It seemed we were the only two people in that crowded room. We sat there in love, speaking through our unwavering eye contact. It felt as though our hearts were harmonizing and beating to the same rhythm. The moment was beautiful.

Then, my husband suddenly tilted his head down. His body began to tremble as he brought a hand to his face, wiping his wet cheeks. He tried to speak, but couldn’t catch his breath.

What happened next? I began trembling with laughter…just like him!!! We were both laughing sooo hard that our cheeks were glistening with tears! Wonderfully stuck in an uncontrollable laughter. 😀

Who knew that so much happiness, laughter, & connection could be in a prison visiting room?!

Experiencing this with my beloved husband and seeing that joyful, child-like, sparkle in his eyes…priceless.

We filled up our weekend with: conversation, kisses, sweet whispers, prayers, inspirational quotes, hand holding, jokes, and pretty much completely enjoyed one another’s company to the fullest!

We attended a special event called: “Family Fun Night.” And FUN it was! We got to play BINGO and eat cupcakes.

Growing up, every Monday night my family would gather for a “Family Home Evening.” We’d begin and end it with a prayer, have a lesson from the scriptures or do some sort of service together, play a game, sing a hymn, and then have dessert together.

In a way, spending this entire weekend together with Steven, was like an extended version of those family nights growing up. It was familiar, and nice.

Our time together is so special for both of us. I’ll forever cherish the memories that we‘ve made.

Thank you, Steven…for bringing joy into my life. I love you.

  1. Carrie, thank you so much for your Angel card reading. I spent some time praying and meditating on the words you wrote. They truly spoke to me. Thank you for this meaningful and very intuitive gift. I’ll treasure it. And I will ask my angels when I need help, guidance, and inspiration. Blessings.

  3. I stumbled across your husband’s blog first. I thought, “wow, what a trooper she is, and so in love.” So here I am. Moved, yet again, by the strength of your love. I just returned from a visit with my fiance(he’s also incarcerated in another state), and there was so much love, so many tears, much laughter. Your post took me back to those moments. That limited visiting time is so special. I’m glad the two of you were able to share those moments!

  5. Obviously none of these people or yourself know what a monster your husband is! Don’t worry me and the group of other unarmed people he went on a rampage shooting will be at every parole hearing!
